2015: Grandpa, Hitler and Me
I loved my grandpa. He served with the Royal Engineers during the Second World War. He was at Dunkirk, he met the King, he once got drunk and climbed a pyramid, but he never told me any of this. 12 years after he died I was given hundreds of letters he wrote to my gran during the War. This show was about those letters.

2014: Laid-Back Grouch
2013: I Don't Know How I Feel About My Kids
Looking at my relationship with my two kids, against a back drop of politicians declaring that they were "speaking as a parent". This show was selected by Amused Moose as one of the Top 10 Comedy Shows on the Fringe.
"Toulson is a comic that deserves a higher profile...he is a definite class act." ★★★★ one4review |
"the best thing I have seen in the Free Fringe this year. Toulson is hilarious from beginning to end...laughs came so thick and fast that the audience was struggling to catch their breath...Incredible technique and timing, Toulson is a treat." ★★★★ Broadway Baby
"Toulson clearly has a bright future ahead of him." ★★★★ Giggle Beats

2012: Luke Who's Talking
This show was about two of the women in my life; my girlfriend (from the date in my 2010 show) and my daughter, including me singing a song in a stand-up show for the first and last time.
"a gimmick-free hour of rock-solid comedy" Chortle
"It will have you laughing from the off-set and will guarantee that you are smiling when you leave." ★★★★ Cream of the Fringe |
2010: Sorry About Last Night
My reasons for stopping drinking are revealed our the course of a disastrous first date.
"Toulson’s skill and speed of improvisation is hugely impressive. He has a natural talent for banter which is a step above the norm, calling back and interweaving each ad lib with the next, constructing a show more cohesive and complete than some of the most tightly scripted shows on the Fringe. His disarming charm encourages interaction and people seem genuinely enthusiastic to join in with his flights of fancy...a superbly written piece of work which is poignant, thought-provoking and above all incredibly funny." ★★★★ Chortle |
2009: Too Many Last Cigarettes
An epic journey to get to my son's nativity play in time. Too bad it begins with a hangover in a stranger's bed somewhere in North London.
"a gifted comic" The Sunday Times "he's a highly skilled and very, very funny comedian." ★★★★ ThreeWeeks "he is the kind of comedian who should share the spotlight with the more established stars." The Stage |
2008: There Are So Many Things I Can't Do
A friend drew me this amazing pencil sketch and I remember having this distinct feeling; There are so many things I can't do. Jobs, relationships, drawing pencil sketches, and it was these failures which brought me to stand-up.
"an explosion of good-natured self-deprecation and exasperated observations...in terms of laughs-per-minute, the show scores well." Daily Telegraph "he is an irresistibly appealing communicator, with a brisk, lively delivery and heaps of likeable charm." Chortle |
